Why is My Sister’s Books & Gifts making this change?
We love being a new & used bookstore, and that only works because of you. Over time, we’ve built up a very large amount of store credit, which (as magical as it is) can’t be used to pay rent, utilities, or payroll. Moving to coupons helps us keep our doors open while still welcoming your books with gratitude.

What’s changing exactly?
Beginning April 15, 2026, book trades will receive a coupon for 20% off any used books, instead of long-term store credit. Coupons can be used same day or later in the month.

Can we still use our credit?
Yes! You can use your credit with the coupon.

Will I receive a coupon for each book that I brought in?
No. You will only receive one coupon. That coupon is good for 20% off all the used books that you buy in the next transaction. (Either same day or later that month.)

If I wait to use my coupon, do I need to bring it back in? Or will MSB&G keep records?
For now, you will need to keep your coupon and present it at the time of use, in order to redeem your 20% off. If this changes in the future, we will let you all know.

What’s staying the same?
We love being a new & used bookstore, and we will be able to keep our doors open.
We still WANT and NEED books!
We’re still incredibly grateful to everyone who brings books in.

Are you still accepting book donations?
Yes! For select genres, authors, and titles on our Most Wanted list, we’ll happily accept books and thank you with a same-day coupon. Our needs change often, so please check our Trade Guidelines in-store or online before bringing books in.

If I bought the book here, will you take it back?
We wish we could accept every book that was purchased from us, but unfortunately that’s not always feasible. Our acceptance is based on current inventory needs, not where the book was originally purchased.

I have a lot of store credit, does this mean you won’t take my books?
You’re still very welcome to bring books! However, we will not be adding any additional credit to your current balance. Instead, eligible books can be exchanged for a coupon.

Is my existing store credit gone?
No, and we truly appreciate you being so loyal for so long.
To help us move toward a healthier balance sheet, all existing store credit will expire on 3/15/27 (one year from our announcement). We’d love to see it used, and we’ll be sharing special events and promotions to make that extra tempting.

I'll never be able to spend all my credit, can I share it?
If you choose to, you can ask to donate a portion of your credit to a specific person or organization that we FUNdraise for. Please note this will only be approved in special circumstances and people can not "name drop" a friend and use your credit.
